VACATION - DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA

The Garden Sherpa decided to take a long weekend in Florida to rest from recent illness, only to be stricken with a mass sinus infection, Bells Palsy and vertigo attacks. Through it all I managed to bring you this video, a secret pool nestle between Deerfield pier beach and Rt A1A.

Retirement officially over - Al Gordon Snowflake 4-Miler

This was a chore. 35 degree weather, outdoors in Central Park the day after a snowstorm. 3 weeks after the flu. 4 week since I last ran a meaningful amount of milers.

The Al Gordon Snowflake 4-Miler should have been a stroll in the park, but with these forces against me, I wasn't exactly optimistic about the result.

Time to scour the 'net and find some more races, I think I can do something special.

Perhaps I should have known better. Perhaps it was the fact that I was completely relaxed and not worrying about a time or anything. I managed to finish 4 miles in under 33 minutes. I managed to run my fastest mile to date in 7 minutes and 28 seconds. All in all, it was a pretty good day and when I saw the time at the finish line, I thought I was seeing things.

BACK COUNTRY LINES WITH THE GARDEN SHERPA

Last week it was 6 inches of fresh that made skiing in the back country so unique. This week it has been snowing since Sunday night with close to 30 inches of new powder. Beaver Creek as always is the big winner for total snow fall, but Arapahoe Basin is one hour from my garage door (that is where I keep my fat boy sleds) to be more specific the Dynastar Legend 8800/178, so with that and 12 inches of fresh and still snowing, A-basin it is.
